Services

Damaged boards are replaced with reclaimed boards or repaired using Lercol a professional cellulose mixed with sawdust which when sanded matches the floor boards. Large gaps can be filled with strips of wood. All nail heads are then knocked in below surface level and any staples removed. Sanding then takes place using progessively finer grit. The edges are sanded with a different machine and finally the corners are sanded with a small corner sander. The floor is then hoovered and 1 coat of Bona primer applied to bring out the natural colour in the wood. 2 coats of Bona  Lacquer are then applied. The floor is finely sanded again between these coats..Finish can be either matt or satin matt.

Conditions

Prior to sanding the room needs to be cleared of furniture and any old floor covering.
All plumbing and electrical work should be completed. It is important if any boards are being replaced old boards are used, not new as they have no colour and will not match even with staining.
2-3 days per room should be allowed. I do not sand stairs. Hallways are uneconomic to sand alone and will  only be done with another room.

Equipment used are Lagler Hummel dust free belt sanding machine Lagler Unico edge sander and Lagler Trio finishing sander. These are much cleaner machines and give a far better finish than the machines available from hire centres.
